What is it?

Two centers of expertise from two universities of applied sciences join forces to support SMEs in their quest for "more value" from waste through green extraction techniques and more specifically through supercritical CO₂ extraction.

 Why do we do it?

Supercritical CO₂ extraction is an environmentally friendly extraction technique that uses carbon dioxide as a solvent. In countries such as the United States, France and Germany, this technique is used to extract valuable components from biological material. In Flanders, supercritical CO₂ is not well known. With this platform the two expertise centers want to offer support to companies that wish to explore and implement supercritical CO₂ extraction.
