The peel of an orange still contains many useful substances. In this project, we use supercritical CO2 to extract an oil whose main constituent is limonene.
Coffee grounds
Coffee grounds are what we have left as waste after making coffee. This waste contains fatty acids, which can be used in the form of oil for various purposes.
In this project, supercritical CO2 extraction was compared to classical solvent extraction.
Oil-bearing seeds
Oil-bearing seeds are a renewable source of vegetable oils.
In this project, supercritical CO2
extraction is compared to accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) to extract oil from cumin seeds and cuphea seeds.
